RichardJ 59 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Am torn between voting for the bugeye or the early model Ka with the big plastic bumpers. Hopefully I'm not breaking any forum rules linking to this Edited February 23, 2015 by RichardJ

Danish 294 Posted February 24, 2015 The worst Ford ever made? Sorry if this upsets anyone but my vote goes to - No, no. Sure they were UGLY, but very high spec and very low second hand value and you couldn't see how ugly they were when you were driving them :) Also of course the Scorpio has donated untold numbers of Cossie V6s to Cortinas. Most of the later range would get my vote, later Fiestas, C-Max, Focus, the 4-door Focus ST, all bland family cars.
nmonkey220 23 Posted February 24, 2015 Love the scorpio great for comfort and value had a few now, Hate the Ka just a rot box but got to say the worst for me is the 2.0 mk3 diesel mondeo great while working but a nightmare once the injectors or fuel pump start to fail
Ale06 7 Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) I hate US models, specially from 70s, 80s and 90s, and I don´t like Brazilian Fords. Our Falcons MK6 and MK7 are ugly too, I mean, I see them everyday, but I hate Ford Argentina didn´t invest design and money in the model as Australia did. wolfrace 116 Posted February 24, 2015 The Ka is awkward to work on and some of them rust like it's a race but they made them for 12 years! I've owned a couple, They handle better than a fiesta, no cambelt and you rarely have to get in the engine bay as they are pretty reliable and the IB5 gearbox is one of the best Ford ever made imo, right up there with the T5. Even the scornio has decent levels of spec and the 24valver is a good engine too. I'd say the Mustang II was a bit of a disappointment but my award goes to the Ford Pinto, (not the engine.... the car) which would, following a minor rear end collision, trap it's occupants while the car set alight. Ford bean counters basically used algorithms and logic "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" to avoid spending a few dollars making the Pinto safer. Many did burn to death due to the specific fuel tank design flaw although oddly they still sold many cars and because the fatalities were less than predicted, (but still relatively high) the subsequent lawsuits cost them less than they projected so they came to a conclusion the car was a success. Odd eh!
Lounge Lizard 0 Posted February 24, 2015 I really meant the worst to look at. I should have stated that in my original post.
wolfrace 116 Posted February 24, 2015 If it's any consolation the Pinto looked rubbish too.
Danish 294 Posted February 24, 2015 If it's any consolation the Pinto looked rubbish too. Oh no, it's so ugly it's endearing! I'd have one given half a chance.

The scorpio and jelly mould Granada's looked awful but are great mechanically. The worst Ford in my opinion are C max, S max, Kuga, Probe, Galaxy all hideous, hard to choose between them. Not sure I agree about the Marina/Ital being the worst car ever made. I thought the Talbot Horizon/Alpine/Solara were utter garbage and would actually rather have a Marina than one of those. Me too though I doubt there would be a choice - I think all them Talbots have been scrapped now.
