PFM1964 5 Posted February 28, 2015 this one any good, been in my garage for more than twenty years or so, still has the shear bolts and one original key, only numbers on it is N573, more than likely came off a MK3
JoeyGXL 17 Posted February 28, 2015 Update! So Crisis averted! I took the ignition switch off last night and tried turning it by sticking a screwdriver, and it still didnt turn the whole way. I took it apart and found that the return spring has two arms, one of which had snapped off and the broken bit had blocked the key from turning, So i took the spring out completely and cleaned up the contacts and it works! Although it doesnt disengage the starter automatically but i just need to replace that and hopefully it'll go through an MOT without for now. Big thanks to everyone for the guidance and advice and Thanks to Jayne for agreeing to lend me a spare for the MOT :superman:
