I went to look at a mk3 2 door 1.6 gt last night, couldn't take any pictures due to it being in an old asbestos garage with no space, anyway it's a pre facelift with a webasto roof, the boot floor needs work as do the floor pans, bottoms of the A pillar, the interior is a bit shabby, the scuttle on both sides has rotted, it only appears to be the outer though having a poke around, the inner wing needs welding behind the bonnet hinge, no doubt it will need welding in parts I couldn't see, it needs new vinyl on the metal of the roof, the body doesn't seem that bad needs a respray, a few scabs at the bottom of the door, the quarters looked good, so do the wings and it comes with lots of spares. What price should I be paying if I take it on?

I think the sunroof won't help the price but anywhere From 2k upwards

Won't be long and this won't happen 80s generation was throw away and there not a spring chicken anymore

no idea on price for UK, but being 2 door and GT will make it more valuable! hope you can buy it (GOOD LUCK) and that you´ll post pics soon!

IMO I've had a couple of 2 doors but never a GT.. Cant really tell without looking at it, maybe £2- 2.5k if it's all there, based on what you say. TBH They either all need work or will need work one day, if the front wings are solid that's a fair whack saved.

Dont worry if it has a webasto or weathershield type slide-back roof, they can only add value.

But dont tell the seller that.
