Australian Savages? Or Savage Australians?

Hi,

I'm keen to get in touch with any Savage owners. Especially any Savage owners here in Australia. I can't get the idea of putting a v6 in my Mk2 out of my head. Early Ford V6's are thin on the ground here (very thin) so I'm considering my options - BUT I need to prove the Savage lineage to an engineer, especially that they were available through a Ford Dealer. I'm hoping to find out if there's any evidence floating around to support that in Australia you could order one (albeit a very rare occurence). Once I'm good on paper I can consider my v6 options!

As far as I'm aware no savages went out to Aus, but I could be wrong

 

Don't they still make the Essex V6 in South Africa - 3.4 litre version if I remember correctly.
