My Latest project 1971 4 Door GXL

Recommended Posts

Very nice.

If you're anything like me you can now have a pleasant evening sorting all the bolts out.

I expect you've already made notes of what's what, but if you need it I have a spreadsheet of the size of bolts and what they're from.

ill take the spreadsheet offer.

tuck the duvet into the corners of the sheets, then sort of unfold it.

ah no wrong script.

well miss J, yes please. I am using only memory and fordopedia.

im not putting a single untreated nut bolt or screw on this car.

It's all in the details Mr C. But I really think you should've put auto lights in the build 😜😂👌🏻

I dug it out, but it's nothing like as complete as I thought it was. :(

Anyway, here it is

UPDATE

------------

about to leave to go workshop and carry on with this project.

Been doing a lot of stuff recently.

pics later.

In particular ive been mastering the RUBY trim.

For your info RUBY is 2 TONE from factory.

recently we had a discussion here on another thread (I think) about the colour scheme of Ruby red.

Im now satisfied its a 2 tone from factory, I have the soft furnishings ford manual (71) and it lists all trim EXCECPT SEATS as RUBY DARK, then it lists seats as RUBY LIGHT.

this confirms my suspicions that the seats were lighter, despite our discussion thread were we all wondered if it was UV sunlight damage making the different shades.

I took the arm rest down on my 2 door ruby car and could see lighter trim

SO

I have matched my interior trim and coloured paints and piping etc to match this scheme.

The door cards and dash etc are all perfect or as damn near as you can get! luckily I hadn't trimmed the seats so ive got time now to colour match the vinylcote paint to suit the plastic trim on seats and to colour the brickweave (in black) to the new red, the bolster material luckily is available in an almost perfect match to RUBY LIGHT so that is VERY LUCKY!!! otherwise I would have had to colour all the seat material, now I only have to colour the brickweave. Unfortunately you cant get brickweave in RUBY anymore.

ive got a piping match too.

so as soon as vinylkote send the new paint I can colour and send seat off for trim

pics later
