Lobby 94 Posted July 11, 2015 Charlie wrote: (on youtube) Pete please dont PAD these videos out ...theres about 15 minutes of things i dont want to watch/see keep focused on the Topic in hand...Restoration of the FORD I replied: I appreciate what you are saying, however i enjoy putting other things in, I never intented when I set out to make restoration themed videos to undertake it in a formal style, its important for me to express myself and that is the primary intention, the useful restoration elements of the work are there for people to use/enjoy. I can fully understand your point though, and I realise for some it may be frustrating to see 'filler', I did think of doing an abridged version of all the work but the problem I had that I didnt get any artistic fullfillment and felt I was trying to be some sort of resto show, which im not . I'm merely expressing my identity, i hope that a spin off of this is that, if you can watch all the material, youll find what you want. Ive never had any feedback until yours to indicate the filler material was an issue or indeed distraction. If i was being paid or under a contract to produce restoration videos I would indeed adhere to the matter in hand, which of course would be cortina restoration, but it aint, its just entertainment using the medium of cortinas. I have spoken to countless individuals at the endless list of shows I attend and people have in fact enjoyed the whole package. You only have to look at the comments. Your point is valid and I really appreciate the fact youve taken time to indeed watch. I will bear in mind your excellent critique and I thank you. How did you get on with my 2 hour 10 mins vid? (taking back to owners etc) Its my opinion that ALL the material is relevant (im just brainstorming now as i type) the ads, the music the banter without this there would be no video at all because i just wouldnt do it. Im an entertainer at heart. I am open to feedback, its difficult using text to acuratley convey my sentiment, but whats important for me to make clear is I fully understand and appreciate your point, and once again I cant thank you enough for taking time to watch and reply. Pete. I hope i was curtious in my reply. I just wanted to say that for me (and an awful lot more people) your delivery and editing of the videos is great, always enjoyable and always raises a smile :) Keep 'em coming! Sometimes if I am busy they seem too long but I usually then skip through and come back to them when I have more time. Its your art though Pete and just like I wouldnt go up to a rock group and ask them to shorten a drum solo I am not going to tell you how to do your videos. Loved the ads by the way - that Teletext - cant wait to get that on my tv.
wolfrace 111 Posted July 12, 2015 I wouldn't have bothered sending such a long reply and courteous reply to be honest, of all the thousands of views on all the vids you had one complainer, not bad going! I love the old adverts etc, I loved the proper BBC Micro style teletext, shame it's gone. :( Looks like a really solid car, was it red originally? Once restored you could do a vid between ruby and swampy to the old Milky Way theme. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4drNFXd6dw

mk4savage 15 Posted July 12, 2015 Great video Pete as always. Really enjoyed it including the vintage adverts  Also enjoyed the Marillion too, One of the best Marillion tracks in my opinion. Appropriate lyrics! It does look like a good solid shell. Good luck with the rebuild and look forward to more videos. Thanks for posting. Matt.

Mk5Mike 34 Posted July 12, 2015 Loving the vids Pete (in full director's cut) - the car looks very sound despite the dubious vendor, bit of any easy resto by your standards though isn't it? And was there a glimpse of some genuine rear seat belts in the red Crusader? Will have to have a word with Monsieur Dave once he's back from his travels... mk4ste 43 Posted July 12, 2015 That red Crusader would have gone again. There were rosettes from shows it had attended in the boot. yes its a shame but for what it would cost to put it right, you could buy a nice one for not much more than it will break for, and we all need good parts  this car was for sale to every one in the country and nobody wanted it. Not long ago dave had a mk5 GL which only needed a small patch welded for mot and nobody wanted that either :headscratch:
