the-ford-cortina.com 226 Posted July 26, 2015 mk3 2 door 2 litre GT It now belongs to another member on here who has spent lots on it but it didnt really need all the work he did . It was found ( unfortunately not by me ) in a garage where it had sat wrapped in blankets for many years - it had an immaculate black cloth tombstone seat interior - the owner of the house had inherited house with car from his uncle , had sold the house and said if the car didnt sell he was going to scrap it. Only bad points were brake pipes were corroded and the engine seized but we fitted a new battery and the radio sprung to life and the lights came on like a scene from " Christine. Shadow 20 Posted July 26, 2015 (edited) My last car was a Sierra 2.0i ghia. I found it in a garage in Hastings it had sat there untouched for 6yrs. It was a 1owner from new with 14'700 miles on her with full history. It was minty mint. I jump started hep up washed it and drive it home to Kent. I kept it for 3yrs and sold it in March this year. It now lives in Ireland. Best bit was it cost me £100. Yes £100. I did a little under 800 miles in the three years and sold her for £2500. Not to bad. As found When sold Edited July 26, 2015 by Shadow
MARK-H 21 Posted July 26, 2015 (edited) My silver 1.6 GL is probably the luckiest find for me. 1 owner since it was one year old sat in a garage from 1995 until I found it in 2007 50k on the clock and other than a bad scuttle and wing top on drivers side thanks to a garage leak it was like brand new. should have kept it Edited July 26, 2015 by MARK-H

sheffieldcortinacentre 765 Posted July 26, 2015 2.0 ghia 4x4 est sierra 1 months tax 7 months mot 5 mile away on ebay £100 about 10 years ago. battery would go flat overnight seller had taken it to several garages who couldn't find the prob, virtually everything short of lights was disconnected. jumped it drove it home really nice smooth drive, pulled up turned it off & could here a faint humming???? popped bonnet & fan was going on slowest speed even though it was turned off? obviously in a noisy garage environment they couldn't hear it & you couldn't feel it inside. pulled fuse, next morning fired straight up! used it for 3 years with only minor work for mots. went allover the country in it.
