found my budget car!

Recommended Posts

so after a few weeks off hunting.. i finally found my budget car

although its not the estate i was after im still chuffed as can be

mk5 crusader

registered 1600 (currently in process of changing)

had a heart transplant for a 2ltr pinto with 18k 6 years ago.

the car has only covered 6k miles in 11 years

purchased the car with loads off spares and extras! 3 sets off wheels, spoiler e.t.c

no MOT but put it in for test today and passed with no advisories..

generally a very tidy car, a few patches that need doing but its exactly what i wanted

il get photos on asap

Cardinal red Crusader? A great choice! I'm a bit biased though...

That's beautiful, the wheels aren't to my taste for the Cortina. How much did you buy if for?

Nice one mate, cheap cars are awesome, you don't feel guilty when you want to change things to your own taste. The worst that can happen is you lose a few hundred quid.

Btw, whilst I also don't much like the current wheels, I do love the tyres, Cortinas look great with chunky tyres.

i paid £1000 for it

which, with all the spares and it being 95% solid i thought was well worth it

it came with these set of wheels

a set off laser alloys and also the original set off slightly deep dish wheels with chrome inserst.

both other sets off wheels require re-ferb and are on the list off the winter months!

Looks rather nice. I'd refurb the laser wheels and fit them with the tyres from the Capri 7 spokes as I also like the chunky tyre look on 13" wheels

cheers for the positive replys...

so far iv fitten new drivers door window mechinism, and iv got the seal to fit.

new door hinge went on tonight

just after a grey drivers door card now.

going to start the lazer alloys tomorrow and see about getting them fitted asap.

may also put the new rear springs in that came with it as the rear end is a bit 'saggy'

car is going lovely... couple off shows have been attened.

got rid of the ghastly capri wheels and bought some orion 1900e wheels. sit a lot better

have also picked up some white lattice wheels so will swap them about when I feel like it

managed to find a whole set off doorcards so interior is now complete and got a radio in and working.

a friend gave me a spoiler so I have fitted that.

have had some great response with it... and thoroughly enjoying classic motoring.

going to use it for the next 6 weeks up until the end off October then get her up on the ramps to do some minor bodyworks and a general tidy up!
