I am not a mark 3 expert but I would suspect 8.5 is too wide for on the front - remember to pass MOT you can not have the tread area protruding out past the archs
nmonkey220 23 Posted September 23, 2015 (edited) I managed to get s set of 8.5's on the back of a mk3 but had to take 2 inch off either side of the axle to get them under the arches.(They are the *.%'s in the signature picture) not sure wht the off set was. I don't think you will get them on the front without modifying the front cradle to clear where the bump stops would be Edited September 23, 2015 by nmonkey220
wreckers771 4 Posted September 23, 2015 I had Capri injection Rs 7 stars on a mk3 and they sat in the arches(but only just on front). 8.5 x17 might be to wide and I found Front wheel drive offset suits best-I had rs500 cosworth cossie wheels on my mk5 and to stop tram lining I fitted 195/50/15 tyres instead of 205's. Plus unless you've got power steering or large arms it'll be a pig to park!!
sheffieldcortinacentre 753 Posted September 23, 2015 there to wide you can just get 6.5 under depending on the et.
Boo 0 Posted September 24, 2015 Thanks for the advice. Offset confuses me I'd like to put 16's or 17's on it what would be the best width and offset combo for them sizes.
