Battery tray

Recommended Posts

Ok, the battery is mounted differently in the P100. there are no captive nuts under it.

When I got it, I think it came with these mounting bars:

Does anyone know if this is correct, and if it is how in hell does it fit?

I personally dont think its origional as the black metal clamp seems to be powder coated and I dont think Ford would have done that.

Anyone help me out with a P100?

Cheers all.

Haven't got them on mine Tony but then again I got nothing holding the battery in place but the leads . However there are a few holes in the back end of the tray for them to hook into but none at the front

Be carefull, many years ago I had a Mk3 Escort and had forgotten to bolt down the battery, I went round a corner and the live terminal touched the bonnet and burnt out the earth lead, lots of smoke...smelly as well.

Cheers Graham, I know Martin asked me how the battery was located and I didnt know (thought it was like a saloon/estate) seems the mounting brackets get lost :(

I know, you dont do pics Craig, but its sort of helpful.I am guessing what I have is incorrect. Anyone know what is correct, hopefully with a pic?

similar to a hook bolt.>> J

a short version of those bolts on top of your battery, M8/13mm.

it goes through plate & tray & clamps it down when you tighten nut.

Pretty much like Craig says, on the microfiche it shows a pic of small J threaded hook that I guess hooks on the end of tray or comes up from under the tray and goes through the clamp. It is held in place with a wing nut, which I shall be looking for when the day comes and we see the beast in the flesh.

This is the only picture I can find, (not really a lot of help), from what I can remember the bolt was as said with a hook on the end that hooked through a hole in the battery tray. The problem I had was the battery not fitting into the other end of the tray and I think I raise it up so it would fit in properly.
