Dave53 0 Posted May 10, 2016 Hope someone may know the answer, my series1 tacho is reading probably double it was fitted with a distributor based electronic unit by the previous owner which is connected directly across the coil contacts. Have read many threads some mentioning converting the tacho but not sure whats involved or if that is the problem believe the unit may have been supplied by Burtons . nosher 1 Posted May 13, 2016 You have an RVI tacho that don't normally wok with electronic ignition, you can get it converted to RVC spec that will work with electronic ignition. Costs vary depending on who does it, or you can buy a conversation kit from ebay and do it yourself. I bought an RVC rev counter from an MG and adapted it to fit my mk2.
