5k sounds about right if the body is good - let the moaners moan they wont have the pleasure of the drive.

".ITS BEEN LOWERED WITH COILOVERS" easily fixed

Hmmm :)

Always a good feeling to get behind the wheel of a car you like. If it seems like a nice deal go for it.

It sounds to me like you would not be happy with what the car is. I assume that's to do with the price being similar to a 1600E.

If the car you were looking at was 3K I guess you'd be happy with it.

So my advice is either hold out for a real E or find a cheaper bitsa.

I can sell you a 1600E FOR £7,000 , it needs a few little jobs just a bit of tidying up , next cheapest E you could buy ready to use will be around £10,000 a nice E replica for £5,000 sounds cheap to me.

A bitsa Mk2 Super 1600 auto I can sell you for £3,500 - that wouldnt do for mr Rubberhead

You have to bear in mind that just last year the average price of all classic cars rose by 17% and Es by more than that.

Are E's really going for this sort of money? What are the ones you see advertised for 5-6k really like? Do they still need work. I think I'd better change the agreed value with my insurance company...

no your right it wouldn't do for me as I'm not to keen on automatics,no problem with standard cars if they are left standard like the saluki bronze one on here ,I think he was considering selling.

hi all, well went to look at E replica today, what a shocker.i was told by owner he uses it every day ,its nice and dry, really good floorpan, good overall condition, wouldnt drop in price etc.

got there first thing back tyre really flat, found hole in floor under drivers feet position about 4 inches x2inches,passenger side was soaking wet, pudding in both A pillars and both B pillars, started it up and he revved it to about 4000rpm straight from cold as it has no choke, engine rattled a bit, timing chain I think, then I put my hand up into drivers footwellkickboard or just above and found loose bits of rust and a few holes, lifted out a lump of mastic/filler and showed him.he then changed immediatly, dont rip my effing car to pieces, you shouldn't poke the paint work [with a finger]he started shouting waving his arms around in a very aggressive manner.now the old guy [70]who was with me then comes under fire, get the , out,get off my drive and f off home, think it shook my mate up a bit.I behaved myself and just left, unusual for me but there you go.I think we just sussed him out and he new the faults were there and just hoped we wouldn't find them.

the car was straight and still savable but not worth £4995,what a shame and what a prat.wouldnt recommend it for any of you guys.its the one advertised as a 1600E 1700 go kart.

I must admit I build cars up in my head to be twice as good as they are in reality so if they aren't much good when you go to look at them it's double the let down.

What do you think it's worth, needing the work?
