Woodley cortinaman 1 Posted November 22, 2016 Hi guys, is there a way of tell img if my mk2 Cortina is a series 1 or series 2. It was built in September 1968. I've translated my vin plate details but it still doesn't give me the series number.

the-ford-cortina.com 226 Posted November 22, 2016 what model is it ? some clues , series 2 has a fuse bos , series 1 didnt have series 1 has a rubber strip across bulkhead just beneath back of the bonnet
teletubby 7 Posted November 23, 2016 Gear lever and front grille are different, series 1 has a longer gear lever, a bit like on a Mark 1, series 2 a short one, similar to an Escort/Mark 3/4/5/Capri The grille on a series 1 is all chrome, on the series 2 part of it is picked out in black, although the 1600E/Lotus use the same one on both which was mostly black

Have to see what it says on v5 IT MIGHT NOT SAY EITHER ON THE v5 the VIN will tell us what model it is first 2 letters tell you where it was built - normaly BA for Dagenham next 2 numbers tell you what model including 2 or 4 door.
