Sold by me with huge history file for £2.5k in circa 2008/2009. Was in very good condition. Someone has let this go. Was offered it back within 6 months without history, I declined. H Cortina 14 Posted December 2, 2016 without history? I got a big history file with it For some odd reason he wanted to sell it but keep the history. He must have changed his mind. I even had the original Fry's of Lewisham number plates.

H Cortina 14 Posted December 3, 2016 I continue to be amazed at the reports on FYK. Must have been outside, uncovered and un-loved since I sold it. No MOT issues with rust then. Just goes to prove how quickly they go down hill if not properly looked after.

I wouldnt say unloved hes spent loads of money but not where it really needed it , we were looking through the bills last night , its had welding for MOT nearly every year for years - been fighting a losing battle just having it patched by a general garage, been doing around 4,000 miles per year since 2011 so an everyday car. I reckon they were just welding patchs on and leaving bare metal and living on the coast there is salt in the air from the sea all the time.

That sounds like my old 4-door - each MOT we had two or three areas that needed patches welding on. It was a losing battle.

BSV205F 0 Posted December 4, 2016 I had the same with my current 1600E series 1 red RRC454F as was sold by John Kirk (ex 1600E Chairman) in 1998 in mint condition with huge history files/folders and even an artist painting etc then 7 years and 3 owners later I bought it. Rust on every panel, paint flat and faded, holes in boot, engine knocking, seats broken and ripped, part of under dash missing, rusted full chrome rostyles, rotten sills, leaking radiator and the list goes on...... :toilet: I wrote to the owners between me and Kirky and even enclosed a SAE asking if I could buy the missing history and not a single reply from any of them. :angry2: However, its saved as now 12 years on and I just about, but not quite, have it looking near to as good as when John had it who thinks it looks great again.
