Danish 294 Posted January 19, 2017 Q - anyone fitted a mk1 cortina front to a corsair ? I think it would seriously damage the value, e.g. if the V5 says Corsair and it looks like a Cortina. :headscratch:

kenbex522 34 Posted January 19, 2017 I think there would be some difficultly with the fact the outer side panels have completely different profiles. Its not just a case of attaching Cortina wings/front panel I don't think.

I think inner wings are different as well . which is why I said its probably easier to put a Corsair rear end on a Cortina
kenbex522 34 Posted January 20, 2017 They are different, but you can modify those quite easy actually. It was the tapered scallop/pressing on the cortina wing and the different shape at the bottom of the wing which wouldn't mate to the Corsair door and sill respectively very easily and look a bit odd really. You would need to perhaps use the Cortina doors as well to make the scallop match/line up.
cactus 2 Posted December 4, 2017 I put a Mk1 capri front on a Mk1 escort many years ago! A real pain in the are and...... I ruined two good vehicles too! My advice is to put something different in your pipe to smoke coz that gear will be the death of you Son!!!
corsair 21 Posted December 4, 2017 There has to be better ways of wasting your time, it is feasible but biggest problem would be the scallop down the sides. But strangely enough the scallop does appear under the rearwing on a 2 door B pillar. Inner wings arent a problem my mate Steve Tonge with 'Rat' supercharged Mk1 used Corsair inner wings adapted to fit his after he had an accident with it
