The Moose MK5 1.6L once owned by Bortaf will be saved!!

Your welcome. The only welding I can see tonne done is the passenger seatbelt mount and I'm told the rear of the drivers outer sill. Very clean indeed.

What an unusual thing to have as a raffle prize, (bear in mind i am a complete stranger to fb) It looks a good shell,so well done getting it,and saving it too thumbsup.gif

My neighbour (who knows nothing about the appreciation of old cars) would say " thats like winning the lottery but all the paper sheets are blank" rolleyes.gif

I wouldn't have entered the raffle if I didn't already own two Cortinas. I can rob parts off my Gold mk5 for this one because the shell is so much better.

I was part way through putting a 1.8 zetec engine in my Gold mk5. Once I have collected the moose and given it a good look over I shall start swapping bits over.

I shall get some friends round one weekend to help swap parts over . This is gonna be great fun.

I suppose it is a little bit strange raffling a car. There have been quite a few raffles on facebook recently mainly on the banger racer pages. I can see why people do them . Quite often a car wont sell so you sell 59 tickets for a raffle instead . That way you still make your money and someone has the car at the end of it all.

Well I have been sorting over the last couple of days . I now have room for the old girl. I'm starting to get excited now . Heading over to Northampton first thing in the morning. I will make sure I get loads of pics.

I just thought I'd update the thread. It's hard to believe that it has been over 2 years since I picked up the moose.  I haven't done masses with it but I have sourced a few parts. I have a complete interior, a few wiring looms. The engine brakes and master cylinder have been done and I got the rotten bit of sill welded. Maybe with some help I can get the old girl on the road this year. Who knows hey?

Just maybe. If not the MK3 will be coming along. I have a good crowd of friends who have offered to come over and help go through parts, figure out wiring etc. Once the wiring is in and the glass is in it will be easy for me to finish off.
