yorkie_racer 5 Posted December 27, 2016 Just 3 months after picking up my mk5 as basically a sort of rolling shell today I got to drive her legally on the rd. Full respray, interior fitted, new brakes all round including pipes and flexis, and rebuilt calipers, wheel cylinders, new top and bottom ball joints, new track rod ends, plus loads of other stuff I mentioned in my " budget build " thread. Drove her the 75 miles back from Duncs and she never missed a beat, over the big hills of the borders even the temp gauge sat solid at between a 1/4 and a 1/2. So thats it a project I kind of expected to take at least a year has been done in short order bar cleaning and some bits like audio fitting, shes now all tucked away in her new home. Lazarus 6 Posted December 28, 2016 Way to go! Congrats, good looking car, I wish you both the best of times and the best of luck! I would add a carpet and a nice heater to that nice garage, a bit spartan for a lady! Keep it rolling! Cheers,
