Rear spring hanger bolt removal

Hi, im struggling to get this bolt removed from the rear spring hanger, I've loosened the nut and given it a good hit with a hammer but it wont budge, has anyone got any tips, cheers Steve

sometimes you just have to cut through them

It must be rust on the head where it meets the chassis rail as the bush is pure rubber with no metal insert as far as I recall so it won't rust along the shaft - a bit of heat might help or plusgas. If you've drilled out the spot welds are you intending on replacing that rail anyway ? :headscratch:

That's what I was thinking, would it be worth grinding the flat non nut end off first and see if I can hammer it through?

swinging shackles are in two half's so both nuts off plenty of wd40 large pry bar and get them apart and it should come out

 

as said its only in rubber

i think the bolt is welded to the shackle itself,both {bolts} are fixed to shackles one to the top and one to the bottom.you cant remove them unless both nuts and washers are removed first
