Danish 294 Posted July 7, 2017 I was told a car wont pass a mot without a vin plate If you have a V5 to prove it's all above board, you can buy a new one for about £50.
John Mack 341 Posted July 7, 2017 Just checked.......if it's first used on or after 1st August 1980, then VIN needs checking for MOT.
sheffieldcortinacentre 764 Posted July 7, 2017 Pre 1p80 vehicles need a vin plt or stampin chassis number for an mot. As its saying not taxed since it was parked up its more unlikely to have been a kit doner just had bits fitted to other stuff. It wouldn't hurt to try contact the address on logbook. The diff should have a tag with the ratio on. Some of the very late 2.0 litres had koln axles prob a case ofbuseing up stock esp as the forthcoming Sierra was going to have an irs. jalopy_cortina 0 Posted July 8, 2017 I'm going to be near Bridgwater with a van 24/25 July and will be going up the A1 to York a week or two after that (dates not fixed yet) so could collect if that's anywhere near you. Hi, thanks for the offer but I am in Scotland, if you want to collect the seats then they are yours, they've been paid.

buzzard 13 Posted July 9, 2017 I was told a car wont pass a mot without a vin plate You don't need a vin plate for a car built before 85 .
