Mk3 Rostyle wheels

Recommended Posts

Since it's looking a bit doubtful about the 5.5J steel slotted type wheels, plan B is some Rostyle wheels. Ideally the Mk3 type but beginning to get a little concerned I've not got any of the right wheels. It's currently on a set of sport wheels which are definitely wrongfor a Jan 71 car. Anyone got anything ?

I was told the MK3 Rostyles are 5J not 5.5J?

I have 2 that have been blasted and a basic primer on but I'm way up North

If it's any help to you I've got a very nice set of of mk2 1600E type Rostyle wheels with all new chrome embellisers and new unused 185/70/13 tyres fitted.

Because of the new tyres fitted 2 weeks ago I would need £400 for them and they are in South Wales postcode CF41.

:winner: Thanks for the offer but a little to much for me as I'm not fussed about the tyres as I've got some new Uniroyal's lined up already

Im told the test is lay the wheel flat and put a level across wheel. .centre should run level with rims. .....also..mk3 cortina has no chrome except for centre cap. .mk2 are to deep and have chrome crosses/edges to rims. .or series 1 are all chrome. .Inc rims.....

I maybe corrected on some details. .

@Mk3GXL.

I have a set of four J5.5 Rostyles with no tyres which I was going to put on my Mk3 but now no longer need.

They are silver with the black painted inlays, and have four centre caps which are chrome look with the black inlays. They are in reasonably good shape, although could do with a fresh coat of paint, and the centre caps are a bit pitted but perfectly usable. I've got a couple of photos but not sure how to post them here.

EDIT:

I'm in Thanet, Kent, and looking for about £250 for them if you're interested.

5 main types for UK CORTINAS MK2 and Mk3 and Mk1 Capri

sERIES 1 1600E full chrome 5.5j deeo dish

Series 2 1600E - CHROME SPOKES 5.5j deeo dish

LATE Series 2 painted no chrome 5.5j deeo dish

Mk3 Cortina painted not deep dish - ( mK3gxl - says these are 5.5j I dont personaly know either way - will accept his knowledge )

Mk1 Capri painted not deep dish 5J

There are South African spec ones as well which are even deeper dish and look like they are banded but they are a genuine Ford fitted type - could be more ...

Yes, I'd be interested in them, assuming they're the correct ones. Would like some pictures though first. I'll PM you my email and you can send them direct if it's easier ?
