nice to see it fits well :) What gearbox you run with that? read its a type 9 for a V6 with different bell housing??

Some info for you. Got most of this from Craig and have added bits and some corrections as I have restored mine:

 

doors are from mk5 est, frt screen is same as all mk3/4 & mk5 est. *not later 'hi top' models

 

frt uprights can be swapped for any mk3/4/5 ones rears will have to be re drilled or a capri or mk3/4/5 axle modded to fit.

rad is unique to them cortina ones need brackets makeing to fit.

 

frt pads are mk2 granada, as are calipers (non vented 2.0/2.3) discs are unique

rear shoes & wheel cyl are 2.8 granada est, drums are unique) as is dash mounted handbrake cable (2 part with actuator inkage) Front half from MKIII can be made to fit.

frt half of prop is 2.0/2,3 cortina, rear unique

front shockers hd cortina (* I think unique?) /mk1-2 granada, rear unique.

Master Cylinder ??????????????????????

 

frt springs 2.3 rears same as sierra p100 (Rears not the same. axle position is different so will need redrilling or repositioning the axle)

exhaust will fit from sierra p100 with minor mods.

towbars,rear window,fuel tank & truckman top will fit from sierra p100, as will load bed.

 

pcd is 5 inch same as rover P5/6 & SD1 also newr shape cherokee (not 90's square shape).

front wings & bumper are swappable with cars ,but originals are unique to P100,

bonnet,lights & inds are identical, rears are unique.

seats can be awkward to swap as the stregthening members in floor under the bench seat meen that they sit 2 or 3 inches higher.

 

being from sa most we're not undersealed & thus rot badly load beds are impossible to find in good condition, but as front wings did have splash gaurds (unique) to the rear, A pillar /screen corners do last better than cars.

 

as all uk market ones where 1600 ohc they came with a 2.0 4 speed for strengength thus meening 2.0 is a straight fit , as is 5 speed type 9 (remember to swap speedo gear).

 

all the above applies to the later facelift versions usually C,D,E reg (larger full B pillar vent) except that screen & door glass/frame/mirrors are unique to them.

 

front clip is unique taking HD shocks (unique) and larger upper wishbone bolt with granada bushes. Also has mounting lugs for sump guard. Clip mount rubbers (HD) are unique but saloon/estate could be fitted.

Well the engine has been decided :-)

 

V6 from a scimitar with the 4 speed gearbox.

Well finally getting started on this bad boy, only been in the garage a year lol Had her on the ramp and she is quite good underneath, 2 large holes and one smaller one to sort but otherwise pretty good. Doors need patching and probably some work round the front window but she's not as bad as I was expecting

 

Got an Essex V6 with 4sp box to go in and lifted that in today to look at making some engine mounts, goes in well so hopefully have it sitting in there by the end of the week ☺️ Will get some photos up in a bit. Sent from my G8441 using Tapatalk

Engine mounts on a fitted, still need to add a strengthener to the front mounts but that is easy done.

Bit more work done this weekend! front end has been strengthened and lights fitted. also clutch all working now as had to convert to hydraulic to match gearbox 🙂

Going to start on rear of the car this next week as need to lift the back end up, once that is done i can get a prop made and she should be mobile then.

About time i put an update up! I have come across a few issues on the rear end. 1st was the prop, first i assumed it was a cortina prop! same as mk3/4/5 but the diff flange did not match.... found a Corsair V4 prop flange matches up so just need to get one made now .

 

2nd problem has been a major issue in realising the rear wheels are not the right fitment for the car, previous owner looks like to have filed the wheels slightly to match the stud pattern! this is obviously a big no no for a road car!

 

3rd issue has been unable to find front brake disks as they are no longer made so i have changed the front hubs for Cortina mk3/4/5 ones. on the plus side i do have the Granada brake upgrade off my mk3 i have been able to fit. This however requires new wheels for the front!

 

All in all its taken a lot more work than expected but i can now see light at the end of the road!

 

New wheels for front and rear have been ordered from the US, going to take 2/3 weeks to get here but could not get the correct offsets in the UK.
