Electric fuel pump position mk3

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I am in the process of doing the bike carb conversion on my mk3 cortina and I'm tossing about where to put the electric fuel pump, where would be the best place? There is a good spot real close to the tank behind the rear wheel but I'm afraid of stones etc flicking up on the tyre and damaging it,

some electric pumps have to be mounted lower than the tank[gravity fed]some can be mounted anywhere.

Usually mounted on the bottom of the spare wheel well (lower than the tank) though TBH when ever that's done it's normaly to use a standard ford pump and cradle, the cradle protects the pump from damage and that's where ford put them on the sierra and it wasn't an issue, as said it depends if the pump your using need a gravity feed or if it can self prime :headscratch:
