2.0 pinto head

Recommended Posts

I need to remove the cylinder head on my 1982 mk 5 2.0 estate to renew the valve seals. Can I re-use the cylinder head bolts?

You dont need to disturb the head to change the stem seals.

If you can lay your hands on the correct Ford/Churchill tool its a piece of cake.

Or use one of these, just as easy.

Also a small length of rope needed.

If you do take the head off there are actually 2 types of bolt (although I can't remember which are which) one type is a stretch bolt and shouldn't be reused. That said I have reused them with no issues.
