mk4ste 43 Posted March 14, 2018 Mk 4 would be a crayford,mk5 would be carbodies wouldn't it. Sounds a bit dodgy to me any pics of this car,i can't see it on the bay?
danb 4 Posted March 14, 2018 Its finished Tonight will try and get mor pics Car had no bids at £4500
martog 128 Posted March 14, 2018 Facia area (bit where the clocks are) is mk5. On a mk4 it's heater controls on top and the radio below. On a mk 5 they have the fresh air vents on top and heater controls below.
danb 4 Posted March 14, 2018 Cant seem to upload pics here now Car is on google search as I. Crayford cortinas
mk4ste 43 Posted March 14, 2018 Its finished Tonight will try and get mor picsCar had no bids at £4500 ok i have seen it in completed listings, it does have the t-bar mk4 roof, but everything else is mk5, wings, back panel, rear lights, bumpers, grill etc. someone must of thought it was a good idea to give it a facelift at somepoint i would have to disagree. That interior would most likely sell for about 600+ to the capri lads, so some out lay could be retrieved there. The 2.8 engine is'nt doing it any favors either really if it was a 2.3 originally i would put it back. Bit pricey overall i'd say.
danb 4 Posted March 14, 2018 Yep as I saw it, all mk5 bits but the listing is sketchy 3.0 engine, then it says 2.8 engine! The roof needs replacing that interior looks in poor condition, I see that car at 3k?? It really looks like a mk5 shell to me

It really looks like a mk5 shell to me i agree maybe they have took the roof from a mk 4 crayford and bodged it on that mk5 shell which would have been a 1.3 L originally no doubt. if thats the case i would say its not even worth 3k. It really looks like a mk5 shell to me I thought I was the only to spot that. It was first advertised as a Superspeed with a 3.1 engine. :headscratch:
andrewfixit 0 Posted March 14, 2018 The doors are from a mk4 as they don't have the bulky mk5 mirrors on them. I quite like it, but would like to know more. ie Is it a mk5 bodged with a mk4 roof, or is it a genuine crayford conversion that someone has given a facelift too? stevewes 14 Posted March 14, 2018 Doors are Mk4 - sharp corner at top of window frame and mirrors mounted on doorskin, so must be a Mk4 shell. If you google the reg. there are some pictures of it with a silver bootlid and numbers written on it in crayon as if it had been sold through a salvage auction. Dodgier than the dodgiest thing in a box of very dodgy things.
andrewfixit 0 Posted March 14, 2018 yes does seem that way, and the seller seems very vague at times.
