OK I am thinking of selling my mk2 estate, I would like your opinion as to it being lhd influencing the sale ability and possible price. To me it's a no brainer as I have driven lhd all my life. For me The condition and provenance of a car is more important than anything. I just wondered what your opinions and experience shows.

Unfortunately being lhd will always influence price. You may find someone who, like you, doesn't care but the car will, for most people be less desirable.

LHD doesn't bother me. I have two LHD cars and my wife has one but unfortunately as far as cortinas go I think it may effect the price.

My cortina was cheap which I put down to it being LHD.

I like the fact it's a bit different.

People don't like LHD because they haven't driven one. All my Sierras are LHD,and I have had people ask me "How do you overtake?" I say "it's down to driver skill"

I've never owned a LHD but I've driven RHDs on the continent and I don't like it. I rely on a passenger to help with overtaking.

driving LHD or RHD on continental Europe has never been a problem for me but it does make your car worth less than a RHD car

I've only had trouble overtaking when the vehicle I want to pass is a bus or lorry and stationary. It's not so bad in a small to medium sized car but in my Charger which is about 6ft wide I had to rely on my passenger to give me the all clear.

But I just see as minor inconvenience.

Worst thing about LHD is forgetting which side to get in after paying for petrol when everyone is watching.

Unfortunately I'm having to sell my Lhd mk1 cortina Gt replica 2 door via a classic car auction it does effect price as my car is in lovely condition but I reckon it's about a 2k difference between LHD and RHD

Cheap enough for a donor that car, or you could get RHD kit from a 4-door donor.

i have a few yanks and LHD is fine by me, but will put a lot of people off and to be honest i think it will add a fair few quid on the sale price, as well as being easier to sell. as long as you can find yourself a dash and steering box, and pedal box from another car- shouldnt be too hard, then its not a big deal to chop the dash and convert. if i was you i would if i had the time if not then test the water and see if it sparks up any potential buyers as it is now.

thanks for the input guys, she has already found a new home to someone on here. flip side though I am already missing it badly, I should look for a shell as I have enough spares to put one back together.
