Timkerr37 1 Posted July 5, 2018 (edited) 1966 Ford Cortina MK1 1500 This was my late fathers car which I am now reluctantly selling. This car is not showroom condition as it was driven regularly in all weather types. It is structurally sound having had repairs over its years and the body work and paint is rather good for a 52 year old car. There are 3369 miles however how many times it has gone past zero in its 52 years is unknown. I will do my best to describe the car in full and I have a lot more photos available for those that request them. Please ask any questions you feel necessary. The car is based in Bangor Northern Ireland. Buyer will need to collect the car in person. I am, however willing to deliver the car to either Cairnryan Port or Liverpool Port for the cost of the ferry and return flight. This is a lovely example of a Genuine Ford Cortina that is continuing to go up in value and is a great investment. I am looking at offers around the £5000 mark but am open to sensible offers. My father spent a lot of money upgrading the following:- New Interior Headlining New Carpet Both Front Seats professionally re-covered An aftermarket rear screen de-mister was fitted however this is not working and will be removed before selling. An original type radio is fitted but this is not working. Not sure if it’s the radio or if it just needs wired in. New re-conditioned Steering Box New Brake Servo. All brake flexi hoses upgraded to Braided Hoses New Brake and Clutch Master Cylinders Braided Clutch Hose Engine has Unleaded Head modification and was recently serviced. New Distributor Clutch was replaced a few years ago. Front Brake Callipers just rebuilt by Bigg Red Front Bushes in steering and anti-roll bar all replaced. Rear Shocks upgraded to GAZ Adjustable shocks. Rear Leaf Springs rebuilt including New Bushes Headlights upgraded to H4s Recent new exhaust Seatbelts fitted front and rear however these can be removed. The car has fitted Lotus Style Deep Dish Steel Rims. I am not sure if these are original or not. If there is a way of checking please let me know. Original owners manual included and also an original service book (albeit for a different registration). The body work is in reasonable condition given its age however there are some rust patches and paint bubbling which I have photos of. As the car is structurally sound it will just need some small areas of cosmetic repair and a respray if desired. These were the last items my father was intending to do. However this is not an urgent job and the car can be enjoyed for a few years before any of these areas would need to be addressed. A few other things that I am aware of that need addressed include new door seals, and the fuel gauge is intermittent. As stated any other questions please ask.
