I've got the car booked in on the dyno in couple of weeks, for the carb fueling and ignition mapping.

hoping for 150ish bhp, but wait and see.

I've had the car on the dyno, it made 136bhp straight out of the box.

After some jetting and timing changes it made 139bhp. I found out when I got home that I was in a 3d ign map , when I was adjusting the timing mapping.

this meant that at flat out the timing was up to 14 degrees retarded at some points.

My fault, I was in charge of Mapping, I'm well .ed off.

Got to go back for another run now , and map the timing properly.

Might make 145 bhp.

Watch this space.

Looks a nice curve plenty of grunt for a little motor really. Can you find an mx5 timing table and drop that in? Knock control may affect stuff on the std car I guess

Yes, it runs ok on the original base map,

But it needs to be adjusted for the best power at flat out.

Then with the 3d map it can be advanced up on light throttle openings to stop the overrun poping and banging, keep the emmisions down, improve the mpg.

But that can be done after the Dyno flat out power pull.😜

Adding a lambda boss to that Johnny? Where did you buy that from?

I won't need the lambda boss on the new one , and I have had to cut it off anyway , as it touches the floor 🙄.

It's a German  nicely made manifold .

I L Motorsport.
