He does some clever stuff, but people only know him for the rev counters lol

Well I've made a start on putting it back together after the bare metal repaint.

Easy stuff first, although it was a bit of a fiddle getting the side light/ indicator lamps to fit inside the apature in the grill.🙄

Yes Tony,  I had a bit of bother with the MK2 gauge not working, it turned out to be the sender hold in ring not contacting the gauge to tank, due to corrosion. I tapped it round a bit more , and it worked.

With the MK1 tank, I used bolts with nice sharp edged shake proof washers, to cut though the paint and underseal, on both sides, that worked too.

I put in a return pipe in the fuel tank when I refurbed it, so later on when I turbo it, I'll need to ditch the Weber's, and go to fuel injection, which needs the tank return.

Forward thinking 😁

When I did my Dolomite to efi I had intank pump but no swirl pot. Worked great til i was 1/4 tank and pulled some g's on a roundabout, instant fuel cut lol. Modded another tank to take the whole plastic pump assy from late model MX5. Plastic but uses a steel ring to push it down against the springy swirl pot. Screw on ones are more work to fit
