Nice one Pete. I used a Stanley blade with the corners rounded off on my last paint job.

No doubt I'll get some runs on the next paint job so I'll give this a go!

Nice approach. I've rubbed back runs before and taken too much paint away, so I'll try to remember this.

That's a good idea.
Whenever I've tried to fix things like that, I always end up taking away the clearcoat from the surrounding good paint. That's a good way to protect it.

Who gets runs? 😀 A proper sprayer shouldn't. Anyway, the same method by using rubbing compound

I'd go watch the gunman or any others full time painter on YouTube they get runs all part off the trade .

I'm just joking J2S. I got a few runs on my first trial run on my Sierra. Never sprayed before. Next time I'll buy an extraction fan as the whole workshop fogged up

J2S- yes, thought it was me going mad, but the newer the car is the more orange peel it seems to have on it! - theres me spraying cortinas and old stuff, and i finish up with the cut and mop, bringing up a near mirror-finish, the other day i had a door to do on a 2 year old fiesta, any way, paint was a good match, but my gun finish alone came up way better than the rest of the car- i darent mop it otherwise i would have ended up doing the whole car!
