Steve Walton 130 Posted October 17, 2018 What is the significance about the difference in the width of the lips on Pinto Cam Covers? Is it to improve the oil retention or is the wide ones from later engines i.e 205 Block or Un leaded head? Are the covers interchangeable? Cheers Steve
sheffieldcortinacentre 763 Posted October 17, 2018 (edited) It's base (gasket) is about twice as wide so it seals better & was std across the range from the midish 80s. Yep straight swap if you can get it with the little plates instead of just washers all the better. littlenewt2067 33 Posted October 18, 2018 the original cambelt cover will need modifying as if you still use the early one it will need some metal removing to allow the wide lip to sit into it.
