pluto.weavil 14 Posted October 19, 2018 Just got back from another trip in the Tina!. Decided to have 3 weeks driving down to Croatia and stopping off at various places along the way before heading back via Cortina in Italy. Places visited: Amsterdam, Hamlyn(Germany), Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Ljubulana(slovenia), Rovinj/Pula(Croatia), Venice, Cortina, Stuttgart, Namur(belgium). Total miles travelled: 1345 Petrol and toll cost: £420 Camping costs: £602 Spares taken: cam belt, fan belt, spark plugs, gasket sets, starter solenoid, alternator rectifier, wheel bearings, HT leads, spare Dizzy, Fuel/ coolant hoses. Spares used: Starter Solonoid. What a trip! It involved some long drives but over 3 weeks we managed to stop for a couple of days in each place and then 10 days in Croatia. The car was great as usual, I managed to fit a 5 speed gearbox 1 week before we left and it made a big difference on the motorways!. Got the box and prop from a capri and it was an easy fit, even the speedo read absolutely spot on which was a bonus!! The car can now cruise at 80mph rather than 65 @4500rpm!. The only issue was stopping for a photo in Cortina Italy and the car decided not to start, I swapped out the starter solenoid and he fired up straight away and we were off!. On the whole trip the only other classic we saw was a Ford Taunus in Germany, an old Russian bike and a Porsche roadster that whizzed passed beeping on the Autobahn Here's a few pics from the trip!

V6Ghia 37 Posted October 19, 2018 Looks like a fantastic trip, great pictures, thanks for sharing. As said, your car looks great and Modena green really suits it. You stayed at the same campsite that we did in 2012. I need to do another proper trip next year, yours and mk5 Mike’s trip pictures really give me encouragement to go on a proper trip again. I would be interested in more pictures and details of your route, it looks great

pluto.weavil 14 Posted October 22, 2018 Thanks everyone, was a great trip!. Yes I would recommend croatia, some great towns and cities to visit. Only minus was the pebble beaches. The only place I would miss is Vienna as we found it a bit boring!
