Anyone know anything about this car?

 

It was on Ebay around August 2007.  I wasn't in a position to bid on it at the time otherwise it could have been my first Cortina.    DVLA history shows MOT out in Oct 2007 and tax expired in Jan 2008.  I think it sold for around £2k which would have been a lot of money for a Mk4 back then which suggests it wasn't bought to break or to send round the track.  Just come across this picture of it that I had saved and was curious as to what has happened to the car?  I wonder if it just got put back in that empty garage and is still sitting there with 11 years worth of dust sitting on top of it?

That's what I thought too but if I remember rightly I think it went for around £2000 which almost certainly meant it wasn't bought to break and I don't think the banger boys would have paid that much?  Hope it wasn't broken up to make one of those horrible kit car contraptions   Hopefully it's sitting tucked up in a garage somewhere.

If you look carefully at the DVLA Vehicle record, it states the Export marker as 'Y' - which means it has left the UK - probably over here in Ireland somewhere!

Ah, mystery solved , missed the export marker bit.  It was a really nice car, probably one of the best Mk4's to come up on the Bay, I remember from the pictures the interior was mint.
