Type 9 into LHD taunus coupe

Want to do type 9  into taunus coupe

 

however do I need a lhd bell housing or can I use a Rhd one?

 

i know there different but wondered if you can use RHD one as a mod?

Yes your just have to get a long cable to made.

If it's a 2.0 ohc already the bell housing is same so lhd will swap straight over.

It’s a cologne v6 I have 2 bell housings RHD & LHD . Want to use alloy RHD but wasn’t sure if it would fit/ work in LHD car. Any ideas on longer cable?

If you use the mk5/TC 3 ratchet type pedal one from a rhd 4x4 twincam Sierra might work (they go all way round eng bay as they all use a lhD gearbox)

Hi just to clarify I’d use no 5 ratchet pearls and it’s sierra cosworth cable that you need cheers 👍🏻

Or if you want to keep your original peadal use the cable from fso polenez if you can find one . And don’t ask how I know that but there’s goads of info in this head

I've used trailer brake cables before cheap & come in various lengths

The one in my V8 ( bellhousing is only avl in lhd & so has to go right round eng bay) only stood me at approximately a tenner instead of £100 for a custom one.

I had to shorten outer & alter end of pedal but simple enough.
