Recommended Posts

Has anyone got any idea's for replacing the little brass reverse light switch on a 2000E box. Maybe someone has found an alternative ? as I have not been able to find one, any help gratefully appreciated.

I bought one off ebay for a Mk3/4/5 Cortina when I first got my Mk3 but I had to trim back the bit inside that divides the rubber plug or socket (as it is) into two halves to make it fit.

Do you mean a  2000E MK3 or a 2000E box (3 rail box Mexico, Corsair,etc)?

Former is fitted to escort RS1800/2000,MK2 Mexico only, all 1.3-2.3 Capri,Cortina(MK3/4/5/p100),Granada 2.0(ohc) 2.3/2.5 V6

4&5 speed manual.

The later Capri/Granada 2.8/3.0 V6,Corsair V4,MK2 Cortina, MK1 escort RS1600/TC, Mexico only.

If it's a 3 rail 2000E with swt on bottom it should I believe be the lower one on list,if it's the single rail version then with it on side  it's the top one.

I have seen that one but the wires have been changed and re soldered and I am worried the plastic bit of the switch may be damaged.

It might be worth a message to the seller - the way I read that is the other end connectors which now have bullets on them . The soldering on the switch end looks pretty standard to me . Steve.

Or maybe not as he does say "rewired" !! still easy to test and if it doesn't work you can send it back .
