johnny boy 159 Posted May 26, 2020 Hi all, I'm going through the dash electrics, and find I only have one speed on the heater blower fan. I think the resistor is probably duff. The Club don't list one , anyone got one for sale ? Thanks Johnny
Ady 28 Posted May 26, 2020 I got mine from Maplins when it was open but same as below: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-3-3-ohm-10W-High-Power-Resistor-3-3R-10Watt/200952607304?epid=19020593830&hash=item2ec9b57248:g:hCAAAOSw~y9ZND0s

Mine looks more like a coil ballast. The terminals were loose, I soldered them, and had continuity. If I join the wires together , I get full speed, but with the resistor in line , I get a reduced speed, on both positions one and two. I guess I may have to look into the live feed wiring to the motor tomorrow, I've done something wrong🙄
Lotuscops 73 Posted May 27, 2020 This is a more robust one than the Mk1 original.

I don't think it's the resister now, as I took it off , and the rivited tabs were loose, so I soldered them to the rivit. Checked it for continuity, put it back and it was the same symptoms. I'm going to have to check the rest of the wiring tomorrow, as you know , when I changed it from lhd to rhd o used the lhd wire loom , and flipped it over, then had to extend some wires. I suspect it's an earth issue, not being switched, it looks like 12v to motor, and earth though the resistor through the switch.🤔
Colr6 16 Posted May 27, 2020 From memory the resistor goes on the feed side not the earth. POS one on switch 12v to switch through resistor to motor then pos two 12v to switch then direct to motor.

I'll have a look tomorrow with a meter😜
johnny boy 159 Posted May 29, 2020 Live to the motor, motor earth to switch, motor earth's though switch. Out to resistor.or to earth direct for full speed. I'd wired it wrong on switch 😂
