MikeC 7 Posted August 11, 2020 What is the correct weight for a mk2 Gt crossflow flywheel, I have found conflicting info on the net.
Keiths Cortinas 4 Posted August 14, 2020 i dont know the weight of the MK2 fly wheel but i have a 1600GT engine in my MK1. Recently the ring gear came of my fly wheel and as luck would have it i had a spare Flywheel which came from a stage 3 crossflow ( lightened fly wheel ) I have found this makes no difference at all . sheffieldcortinacentre 529 Posted August 14, 2020 (edited) To best of my knowledge there's no difference in STD flywheels their all circa 16lbs in old money. From 68- the only difference listed is for the early 1100 escort smaller diameter clutch (ie placement of locating dowels). Mk1 Cortina/Anglia etc have a 4 bolt fitting which was superceded by 6 bolt. Edited August 14, 2020 by sheffieldcortinacentre

I have been sold one which is 22lbs or 10 kg, and I am led to believe a cortina one is 18lbs or 8kg so I don't want to fit this one if it is wrong so I hope someone can enlighten me. MikeC 7 Posted August 15, 2020 (edited) Ok as best as I can make out it is 691M6398 or could be a B AR or AB and near this is 1F8 All numbers on the back near the ring gear is 751DA which looks more etched into it I think it may be 1100 or 1300 crossflow. I hope you can check it out as it looks like I need another flywheel, Do you want to sell one Lotuscops Edited August 15, 2020 by MikeC

I just checked & I have 4 x 4 bolt ones only, no 6 bolt versions - all are 15 lb or 18lb weights. Edited August 15, 2020 by Lotuscops err

sheffieldcortinacentre 529 Posted August 15, 2020 That's a 1.3/1.6 xflow 68-70 an 1100 one would start 2733E.
