Mk2 Crayford 5 Posted October 26, 2020 Whilst I'm ripping the car apart over the winter I want to sort out the wipers. Mine don't self park, just stop wherever they are when I switch them off. They also stutter when in use. Any ideas what the cause is likely to be? I assume it must be the motor or the linkages that need a clean.
Chriswitha1600e 0 Posted October 28, 2020 I don't know for sure but I guess there should be a park switch on/in the motor somewhere? Juddering could well be just a dry screen and sticky wiper rubbers.
Lotuscops 73 Posted October 28, 2020 Juddering is normally dry screen or worn blades. The switch should have 3 blades (most replaced with a 2 blade) On the back of switch upright facing you :- Top left spade = Black to earth Top right spade = Red Bottom left spade = Black to motor
Mk2 Crayford 5 Posted October 28, 2020 I'll pull the switch out and have a check on the wires. Mine is slightly different as I turned the washer pump into electric by fitting a push to make switch in the back of it so when you push the knob in it acticated teh pump. That was a few years ago and i must have been bored that weekend!
