1973 2000E indicator stalk

Searching for parts for a restoration project can drive people mad. I took an old indicator stalk apart to see what is inside. I am sure I am not the first to do this but once you do, the stalk is unusable.

The stalk on my 1973 2000E is model 74BG/13335/AA  11-73. I have seen new reproduction stalks on ebay but cannot find a match. I even emailed the seller but they say they don't have it. Does anyone know if another model will work on my car? Thanks

It's used in all MK3/4/5/P100's 73 onwards,MK2 escort,MK2/3 Capri,MK2 Granada.

Hello and thanks for the information. I was not sure because some stalks have less pin connectors. I have a stalk which I believe is for a Cortina MK4,  76BG/13335/AA which should therefore work.

The MK3 one may have the parking light facility ,with ignition off putting the stalk to left or right made that side sidelight become illuminated on prefacelifts but I think it was phased out on facelift versions after 74 around the time that electric screen washers where standardised across the range.

The stalks will work fine though.

 

The lights/wipers ones are only the same as MK2 escort,MK2 Capri. the others are different ( pin order but are all the same MK4/5/P100,MK3 Capri,MK2 Granada).

Thank you again, I was going to get a cortina mk4 lights/wiper stalk but will now look at mk2 escort etc as you say.

Early facelifts tend to have foot operated windscreen washers and later facelifts have stalk operated.

Mine has electric wash wipe and sided parking lights.

I have been collecting parts for years and I thought I had some but couldn't find them. After another crawl around the loft, I found,  Indicator stalk 76BG/13335/AA and wiper stalk 74BG11K665CB. Both are suitable I think. Thanks for looking though and really grateful for the advice and information. The wash wipe is on the stalk which I plan to somehow connect to work on my car. By no means an expert but I am sure with some logical thinking it will be possible

That's ridiculous in not being able to rebuild the stalk compared to the Sierra that can be.

Maybe its the way I took it apart sierra3dr, you are probably more skilful than I am in these matters
