It drove great, brakes good, gearbox good ,axle good, engine good, steering good when I got used to driving with a steering box again, you forget how precise modern steering is.

I will need to put a new return spring on the brake pedal , because that is either broken or weak.

Only did about 8 miles, just a shake down.

When I got back home , I went to move it, and it woudn't start, turned out to be a wire had come off the starter motor, squeezed it up a bit , all good.

It dosen't handle like my mk1 Cortina, but that is built with all new uprated suspension and a steering rack.

Or go like my mk1 Cortina, but it goes well for a 39000 mile 1300

Sounds like you've got a nice usable classic there. The paint has a bit of patina which is nice as you don't need to worry too much about scratching it.

What's the plan now? Are you still going to move it on?

Wheels I have borrowed from my Mk1 Cortina , they are 6 x13 with 185/60/13 tyres 🙂

Yes I think so, I could do with the room, I'm not in a hurry to sell, so I will use it a bit, get some miles on it , make sure it's ok.

The Mk1 Cortina that I built up will be the keeper.

The Mk 2 will make a nice project for someone to build into a nice usable std car, or convert to rhd, rack and pinion steering , big engine and a 5 speed

ok thx Johnny, they suit quite well!

It came with STD wheels , that look a bit thin , 145 /13 I think.
