Recommended Posts

Hi, does anyone know of any workshop/industrial units for rent in the Harlow Essex (or Herts and Essex ) area as i'm looking to start the rebuild of my MK1 Cortina.

Thanks.

Can't even pop round the local farms in the current climate either. and i'd dread to think about rent prices now as well. Ironic thing is i have a huge garden to build a workshop in but it's not accessible by road.

When you do find one, they are 2K a month once all the fees have been chucked on.  last year I had the battle to find another one for £350 because the landlord has come to the conclusion to knock them down due to flood damage to the rear wall. The same landlord offered me one 25 miles away which I had to take, compared to the one I did have,4 miles away

Yes it's a lot of money, especially if it's just your hobby and not your business. Easier i suppose if you can share the rent with one or two more people.

Build one in the garden & get a crane in when it's done Brian - cheaper in the long run and safer.

The only drawback on that,is that the person(s) you share with might decide to pack up later in the contract, leaving you with the larger rent fee

Usually, people need a car lift/post which requires an extra height in the building, which won't sit well with the local council

I have a crappy old unit in the basement of an old mill.  It's dirt cheap but damp.  I've been trying in my neck of the woods (WA10) for years to find something better but better = expensive.  Most of the old unit style things that we would have had have been knocked down over the years for development.
