Captain Scarlet 96 Posted March 14, 2021 I guess you've all seen the trailer to the new series showing the James Bond Aston Martin being shadowed by a Black Mk4 Cortina. No doubt they wont crash the Aston ,but i fear for the Mk4
John Mack 331 Posted March 14, 2021 I haven't seen it, but I fear you're right. I think I'm also right to say the presenters are more entertainers than car fans.

sheffieldcortinacentre 749 Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) Seen ad presume it's to do with bond cars / films a MK4 (taunus TC2) was used with an esprit not the Aston in " spy who loved me" but obviously we won't want that minor detail to get in the way of a good story. Not watched it for years since the three Muppets put more emphasis on tomfoolery . There are many way better "car shows" on YouTube. V6Ghia 37 Posted March 15, 2021 I think the Mk4 with the Aston is the Midnight blue L recently sold by ACA? I watched it last night for the first time in years, apart from the bit where they were driving on each other’s laps it was quite good, Paddy McGuiness is irritating but I managed to watch it to the end and there was no mindless vandalism so hopefully it is improving. The Jupiter Red Cortina GL was beautiful and my reason for watching.

I find Paddy and Freddie annoying fools , Chris Harris is a lot easier to watch .

John Mack 331 Posted March 18, 2021 Just watched it on you-tube, fast forwarded the track bit (waste of time) which seemed to be the end of the Dad's Cars bit anyway. Liked all 3 cars, all nice in their own ways.
Captain Scarlet 96 Posted March 18, 2021 Well it was good to see them not crash the 'Dads cars' though the 1.6GL mk4 came close to the van on the bend Still irritating presenters, but the public want entertainment !! They show some product ignorance ,they could have mentioned there were more powerful versions of the Fords ,so they did not look so underpowered compared to the bmw, a 2.3 V6 Mk4 would have put up a better fight against the bmw,but would you lend them yours, not a chance eh. The Mk4 looked well handsome alongside the others, with good driving shots of it. Lets hope the dark blue one survives unscathed
