mouse 6 Posted August 9, 2021 Hi Gang. I have a 1965 Tina Mk.1 The brakes are crap I have Escort Mk.1/2 struts with Escort calipers. I am using a 19mm master cylinder with a remote servo. The engine is a 1690 Escort with a fast road cam and twin choke Weber. When I pump the pedal the engine speeds up so there is a certain amount of vacuum just how much I don't know. Any info would be appreciated.. Regards Mouse..

mouse 6 Posted August 9, 2021 Hi Good evening. The master cylinder I have on is actually .7mm That relates to almost 18 mm. I have never seen one bigger than this have never seen a 22 mm This is classed as 19 mm. The reason I went down this road was because with having Escort Mk.1/2 callipers the corresponding master cylinder for Escort Mk.1/2 is .7 mm. I have been advised to fit a 12 volt Vacuum pump. What do you think.. Regards Mouse..
sheffieldcortinacentre 529 Posted August 9, 2021 Not sure mk3-5 cortinas use the same calipers with a 22mm bore master cylinder.

sheffieldcortinacentre 529 Posted August 10, 2021 Right a quick check reveals the following MK1 single circuit 17.5 mm bore MK2/ MK1 escort/Capri 19mm. Dual circuit 21mm Any type of servo will only reduce pedal effort NOT improve efficiency.
