Neil. 118 Posted July 25, 2004 just thought id make an observation, still pointless posts are being put on in serious enquiries from people wanting help, whats the point in asking anymore when silly replys are put up most of the time  , like i said just an observation i must admit it is starting to annoy me too - this site is here to help people not to just type in often pointless replies to just bump your post count - If it continues we'll just set the count for each member to zero. Please think before you reply to any post.

1600e 0 Posted July 25, 2004 (edited) GUILTY! I admit, I am one of the culprits with the banter but, usually, if it's a technical question that I can help with, I will try to answer the question before any banter comes in. (As I think most do) As Richard said earlier though, it is sometimes difficult to realise that you are actually in a technical discussion. In Ricardos post, where he was asking for advice on a gt, I have said that a laugh and a joke is OK as long as the question has been answered and I stick by that. Not everyone appreciates the banter, I know, but a lot do. I think the banter creates a friendly atmosphere to the site. I take on board the point that people could be put off from asking questions but I also think that people may be less nervous about asking a question because the member att*tude is so laid back and relaxed. I think that, as long as people realise that they will get an answer in there somewhere, they will ask the questions. Sorry about the word att*tude but the language filter is picking up T*T in the middle of the word!! Please think before you reply to any post. I must admit the jokes are wearing a bit thin and this is reflected in my post rate........ I think we're in danger of losing a few( or a lot) of Good Cortina Fans from the site because we are losing sight of the aims of the site ( to unite the Cortina world...) A lot of the posts on here would be better made in the chatroom which is designed for conversations and this would improve the chatroom also and yes...I am as bad as anyone else , so dont think Im having a go at anyone please... xxGail Hxx 0 Posted July 25, 2004 its difficult to chat when there's a few (more than 4 or 5) people in there. you end up replying to someone else and its really hard to follow the conversation. its ok if you can type fast, but i'm not that good!! 1600e 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Agree entirely on this, keep the jokes in the relevant posts............ Check the stats, the off topic section started on 6/7/04 (19 days ago) and has already had almost 1500 posts. That tells me that members are taking on board what has been said and also proves the point that some members enjoy the banter, jokes and general non-cortina stuff and are putting posts in the right place. We are all like minded people in the Cortina sense but there are other things in life also.
