78 Crayford 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Agree entirely on this, keep the jokes in the relevant posts............ Check the stats, the off topic section started on 6/7/04 (19 days ago) and has already had almost 1500 posts. That tells me that members are taking on board what has been said and also proves the point that some members enjoy the banter, jokes and general non-cortina stuff and are putting posts in the right place. We are all like minded people in the Cortina sense but there are other things in life also. ....I agree with 1600e here. When I found this site it was refreshing because it was about cortinas - obviously, but there was a great sense of community too. Lots of the members were comfortable enough with each other to have a laugh and joke. The banter is at times hilarious  and the welcome given to new members is a big one. They too are soon 'one of the gang' which is nice. I've noticed recently the number of members online around 6pm is huge, and that tells me that people come home from work and log on, to see whats been happening while they have been away ! Now you dont get that on a site that is totally 'cortina' (or any other type of car) orientated. The memebrs on here seem to care about each other and are always looking out for each other for parts or to try to help in any way. The sense of community spirit is vast. I do agree with the earlier posts about the technical section not being used for jokes and banter, and I think that most people have respected that, but it is interesting to watch the 'last click' section and actually see where people are and what they are reading - guests included. Most people enjoy reading the banter, even if they are not actively involved in it. Sorry about going on, I'll get off my  now and leave you all in peace. franck69 0 Posted October 18, 2006 I ve read all your posts on this topic. With your permission, I d like to say I share Richard, Lin, 1600e, 78Crayford's points of view on how your site is refreshing, enjoyable and has a great sense of community , being at the same time a valuable source of info... and make e few comments - We meet the same sort of problems on the tanunus club forum and we open a new topic when the barter develops from such or such post. It keeps the place "clean" tho we can add comments on the appropriate place. - its quite amusing to notice the importance you give to barter and... HUMOUR which is, I guess, a cultural aspect it would be a shame to get rid of - The sad thing for me ( not a native English-speaker) being the frustration not to always catch the witty jokes... :D
