Bit to much offset unfortunately for MK3/4/5 can never remember the ET sure there's a post on here stating what fits?

-7 offset should help, but what tyre size are you going for, I have a set of 8x15, they've been trial fitted to one of my mk5s, they fitted, can check the et on them and post you the answer in the new year, they also fitted my mk1 GT, there may be a picture of them on members cars, mk1 GT.

They'll stick out a mile! A 6" Ford wheel has an offset of around 40mm. So a 7x15 is already 25mm wider. -7 means the hub face is 7mm inboard of centre meaning that face is about 47mm further in than a std wheel, pushing the wheel out 47mm. With the extra width that's about 60mm. I have 7.5x16 on my mk5. Et35. They totally Fill the arches. Those wheels would stick out another 35mm which, even with stretched tyres is going to look like a roller skate!

-7 offset is the bit that doesn't help; its the wrong way.

Here's a cad representation. Those wheels would stick out 68mm more than a ghia rim. 47mm more than a 7x15 cosworth lattice. Mk5 geometry doesn't take small offset as well as mk1/2 cortinas and escorts.

That said, it depends what you class as "fit". If it's not lowered, they'll go on.....

One thing to remember is the rear wheels sit further inboard than the front. The front will have the most poke on those wheels.

I have 17x7 but it’s something like ET30 on my mk3 (not my choice of wheel, it’s what came on the car..) they sit about one inch into the arch on the front but have plenty of clearance on the rear. I’ve had 15x6 ET22 in the past (195/50/15) they were fine and 13x6 ET12 fine, Capri deep dish steels 13x5.5 ET19 both sets of 13’s on (185/70/13) they were all fine.

The wheels I’m replacing my current set with are some 1970’s hurricanes for the rear at 14x7 they are around ET5 and with 195/75/14 tyres, I know for a fact they won’t go on a drastically lowered car like mine without arch rolling or narrower tyres.

ET (offset) is measured in mm that would make those alloys you’ve seen sit further out by 12mm more than the old Cheviots I have, this might not seem like a great deal but my guess is even with 175 tyres unless you have enough clearance from the ride height and fit adjustable shocks to stiffen it up it’ll be an issue, especially if you have passengers.
