Mig welder for bodywork

Looking to buy a cheapish Mig welder suitable for novice welder for doing bodywork loads out there but hoping for recommendations

I got the Clarke one too, had it about 20 years now, still works well.

You just need a gas supplier now! I use my local motor factors , C02 about £25 plus bottle deposit.

 

Have you mig welded before ?

I’d get argon/co2 mix much less splatter and easier for beginners

Not done much going to work away with some scrap metal and watch plenty yatube

I agree, tiss cleaner:thumbsup: but I cant get any without renting a bottle :dry:

Old panels removed make foe good practice :thumbsup:

 

If you want to show us some welds, we can give feed back " Good " or "Bad ??:wink:

I will get some practice over the next week will post some pics I don’t have a joggler yet I will get a few more bits as I go along and hopefully get in to more serious stuff 😜

     I use a CO2 / Argon mix, small disposable bottle from Machine Mart.

I use Hobby weld,no rental charge,just go & change bottle,just like calor gas bottles.

Hi Deano,

                  I like the bottles from Machie Mart nice and small and fit on the back of my MIG Welder. Don't do a lot of welding now but like to have the MIG at hand.
