Starting to resemble a car again. I hope to finish welding underneath this weekend then I can paint under there, and drop it back down.

With January being its usual cr*ppy self, I figured time to play indoors, and finish something I started aaaaages ago. Internal door handles...

I always thought chain-link steering wheels looked cool AF, but assumed they'd be horrid to actually use. So thought I would pinch the concept for something else. They will be painted black and silver, but need to gclean off all the annoying spatter first.

Hope there is enough bad weather to ensure you finish them 😊. Very interested in seeing the finished job. 👍😎

Thanks - here you go...

Assuming I haven;t seriously stuffed up then it should bolt on in the standard place via the 2 chain links at the back

Back on all fours for the first time in a long time... Front suspension fitted with V6 springs (hence the huge gap between tyre and arch), adjustable shocks, and princess 4 pot calipers.

New brake lines and fuel lines fitted.

Welding is 98% done. Next is to remove the front windscreen and address any issues behind it. Then fit the replacement, and get the front wings to fit better. One lines up nicely. The other needs the wing rail adjusting.

Bye bye Romanian tax disk.

Old screen is out. Rather to my astonishment there doesn't seem to be any rust beneath the rubber (unlike the rear screen and rear quarter lights. I will give a a good going over with a wire wheel, but not tonight

MK4/5 rear quarter lights seem to rust really badly I think it's because the gutter ends in that corner unlike MK3 which directs it onto rear wing
