disco_monkey79 29 Posted July 10, 2023 Howdy y'all. Having repaired the boot floor, I am nearly ready to cut off and replace the inner valance. I am making my own inner, as they don't seem readily available. My question is - is this bulge in the middle supposed to touch against the outer valance? Or is there supposed to be a gap between them? The old outer valance was so dented it was hard to tell what was intended by Ford, and what had been the result of touch-parking. sheffieldcortinacentre 747 Posted July 10, 2023 On mk3's it touched the number plate recess in the outer valance but as the number plate was moved to the upper rear panel on the mk4-5 there was no longer a recess required so it no longer reached but was just left the same.

disco_monkey79 29 Posted July 11, 2023 Hi, follow-up question please. Is the inner valance supposed to attach to the spare wheel well? Or is that a modification made by my Romanian nemesis? Thanks
sheffieldcortinacentre 747 Posted July 11, 2023 No should attach to boot floor, the inner corners & bottom of outer valance. There should be a small gap between it & well.
