Folks

I have a mk1 South African car which has an 8 gallon ( verified) tank but the sender is not the flat face and separate lock ring.

My fuel sender attaches like the Mk2 one piece unit, the seal I removed was a simple neoprene/ rubber  flat ring which destroyed itself.

Searching,  came across  Mk2 owners club lists two sender unit types with pictures ( suggesting my one looks like the late Mk2 but no seals shown)

could some body please show me the two  types of seals?

Mk2 club numbers are 2400E-9276B  Aug 1969 onward

and                               113E 9276S ( which I think is the flat faced sender ring with the separate lock ring

PM me if that's appropriate or  alanlarnach@hotmail.com

Oh the joys a SA car :angry:1888685672_sender2.2.thumb.jpg.7fc4ea9956a8ca67a947579d9b93ffaf.jpg

me on is it importantence  to fit a V seal or can it be a solid rubber one -- have been trying to find a viton seal but can't find to date or are the original seals ok don't want to fit something like nitrile

if somewhere down the line it's going to break up/ leak   ( mk 5 1982 cortina )

No it can be a solid rubber ring, if you have a look through my posts of last year you'll see I had a bad leak from the sender seal on my MK3 racer due to the E10  fuel& I made my own seal.

Sorry this a bit late, some may know of this company,MC Trading ltd.

Amongst other things they do new fuel tanks for Cortina's.

Here is photo showing part numbers,I don't know if the seal is available separately.

Their phone # is on the photo or look them up on the net.

In Sevenoaks I think
