Doing it on a Cobretti kit car with MK4 running gear, I'm not poly bushing as it's lighter than a standard car, so rubber will be sufficient.

I've polybushed the subframe mounts and it seemed to work quite well without much of an increase in noise or vibrations.  In general I found the front tolerated polybushing quite well.

 

The back end was a different story entirely.  When I polybushed the rear arms it made the car rumbling and growly and you could hear a lot of mechanical noise.  Over 50 mph it was uncomfortably loud.

Have you already purchased the rubber mount bushes?

Yes, got them off a seller on eGay, the car is way too light for polybushes, hence my preference for rubber.

For a Cortina I'd probably polybush it.

I've got mine solid mounted, and it isn't much of an issue.  Certainly get a lot of feedback through the steering with the way I've got it.

Well,they have arrived. Left is for the front,right is for the middle of the inner wheel arch. Although the holes measure the same.

Std ones are all the same.

Polybushes do come in various grades of hardness, some makes do a grade that is close to the original firmness. People often fit the hard version but these are for race use unless you like your fillings on the floor.

The other thing I have found with Poly bushes is they need some miles on them, when new they are often far to hard but once a thousand miles they seem to be a lot better.
